Before You Order: Know Your Generation

The dash number matters. A PC200-6, PC200-7 and PC200-8 look similar from the outside, but the electronics, monitors, controllers and many harnesses are different between generations, and parts can also change with the serial number. Order by part number whenever you can:

• Monitors and controllers: read the part number from the label on the back of the old unit (Komatsu monitor numbers often start with 7824- or 7835-).
• Seal kits: check the cylinder number or your parts book. Boom, arm and bucket cylinders each use a different kit.
• Harnesses: the part number is usually on a tag on the harness. Note where it runs and the number of connectors.

Signs a Part Needs Replacing

• Cylinder seal kit: oil on the rod or tube, a cylinder that drifts down when the machine is parked, or slow, weak movement under load.
• Wiring harness: faults that come and go when the machine vibrates, corroded or melted connectors, or chafed insulation.
• Monitor or controller: blank screen, error codes that will not clear, or no communication between the engine and the machine.
• Fuel injector: hard starting, rough idle, black smoke or a loss of power.

Will a PC200-7 part fit a PC200-8?
Sometimes, but often not, especially for monitors, controllers and harnesses. Always order by part number.
